Red Velvet Anniversary Shake

This was devised after I had leftover beetroot puree from the Red Velvet pancakes from Valentine’s Day that I’d frozen. It’s my wedding anniversary at the end of August, so I figured this would be a suitable start to the day! It’s a really yummy twist on the classic chocolate shake, with extra nutrients from the beetroot and banana.

 

Red Velvet Anniversary Shake

Serves 2

 

INGREDIENTS

1 frozen banana

2 scoops (50g) chocolate protein powder

awesome supplements whey protein

10 tbsp. beetroot puree (cooked beetroot mashed or put through a blender)

2 tbsp. cocoa powder

300ml milk of your choice (dairy, almond, coconut)

2 handfuls ice

 

METHOD

Place all the ingredients in a blender or smoothie maker and blend until the ice is crushed and everything is thoroughly mixed.
