What are Macros?

What are macros? And how much do I need of each?

 

Macronutrients or macros as they’re commonly referred to are protein, carbohydrates and fats.

 

All foods fit into one or more of these categories.

Don’t worry it’s not hard, because unlike bodybuilders who track every gram, you don’t need to do that.

There’s way simpler ways to get it pretty on point!

The UK Governments Guidelines can be found here. These are better than a diet of junk, but quite outdated compared to how most nutrition coaches work these days.

The fitness fave IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) system can be found here. This is good for general fitness but when losing weight, a higher proportion of protein helps preserve muscle.
